Peabo Bryson in Las Vegas

Peabo Bryson in Las VegasPeabo Bryson will be performing two nights in Las Vegas this April.  Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29.  He will be at the Orleans Showroom.  First off, the Orleans is a great place for a concert.  It is not on the Strip….Just about a mile from there, which makes it more convenient.  If you have been to Las Vegas, you know that Las Vegas Blvd and the two parallel streets are jam packed.  You can go down there after the show to get your groove on at one of the clubs.

To say Peabo Bryson is a legend is an understatement.  His recording career started in 1977, when he released Reaching For The Sky.  Feel The Fire came off of that album.

After that, it was on!

18 albums later, he is still out there entertaining crowds.  I am just trying to figure which song I like the best.  Can You Stop The Rain comes to mind, but I will have to go with Let The Feeling Flow.

It is funny, I usually look at the artist’s Wikipedia page to see what is written about the artist.  This is the first line on Peabo’s page:

Peabo Bryson (born Robert Peapo Bryson, April 13, 1951, given name changed from “Peapo” to Peabo c. 1965) is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, born in Greenville, South Carolina. He is well known for singing soft-rock ballads (often as a duo with female singers) and has contribution to 3 Disney animated feature soundtracks. Bryson is winner of two Grammy Awards.

SOFT ROCK BALLADS?  I think not.  Feel The Fire, I’m So Into You, Show & Tell….I do not see any soft rock here.  Even the Disney Soundtrack songs are R&B that will lean a little on the pop side, but soft rock?

This is why you cannot believe everything you read on the Internet!

ANYWAY… If you will be in Vegas at the end of April, grab your tickets before they sell out.

April 28 – 8pm

April 29 – 9pm
